Five White Guys in a Room, Film at 11

Not just any five white guys, but three journalists and two scientists, who got together for a discussion at the Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Among the topics covered in the session: the challenges reporters face in explaining scientific uncertainty to audiences.
One panelist, ABC's Bill Blakemore, who has covered climate change for the network for four years, says reporters would be better served by approaching environmental stories as stories about everything from food to religion. As it is, Blakemore said, reporting on climate change "will be seen in the future as the single greatest failing of American professional journalism.”
