State sponsored Tourism blogging
Recently I came across an article about how in Pennsylvania, the State enlists "real people" to promote tourism on Web log.
I believe Vermont should consider quickly jumping on this particular bandwagon. In fact, after I bogged up a blog post mentioning and linking to the article, I e-mailed the state tourism agency, but have as yet to hear back anything from them; don't even know if they received my e-mail or whatever. Of course that was only yesterday morning, so it may taker them until sometime next week if not later to reply, if they bother to anyway.
My post on the subject is here.
"Refrigerator Journalism", Local News & Blogs ...
Had also come across two different articles within one particular publication that caught my interest as well: one concerned newspapers and local news and blogging, the other was about newspapers and j-blogs as well as newspaper sponsored citizen j-blogging, etc.
Once I posted a blog post regarding these articles and my take on them, I e-mailed Ernesto Burden of the Rutland Herald/Times Argus New Media team to bring it to his attention since it is my hope the the RH/TA will consider creating some sort of team j-blog of a more general nature which will meet what I believe there is a need for and what I think their readers will be responsive to participating in and reading; if they were to decide to do it though, hopefully this would be in addition to the two existing j-blogs they already have of course, which are great for what they do and I hope they remain committed to maintaining.

Mandarin: Blogging for Postcards
One of the many blogs I have kept up with for some time, which has been an excellent informational resource for finding tips, wisdom and tools to use in aiding my blogging and building my blog(s) a bit, is Mandarin -- blogged by Meg.
Recently Meg posted a blog post in which she asked people to send her postcards and the like.
I always enjoy receiving postcards myself, so was pleased to participate in this venture, which is spreading across the blogosphere -- where it all started or where it will all end I do not have a clue however.
My post about it is here.
National Trails Day®: Saturday, June 4, 2005
For those who unaware of it, today is National Trails Day®, yet there is plenty day and warm sunshine remaining with which to still get involved.
If anyone is interested and so inclined, check my blog post on the subject, here.
anatomy of a *real* sandwich: ham and turkey club combo
Posted on my LiveJournal, here.
Thank you for posting this experimental open thread Cathy. Great idea!

Opps. Am not sure what I did, but the link in the last item of my comment post within this thread is not working as I think I mistakenly put the wrong thing in where the url should have gone.
Once again: anatomy of a *real* sandwich: ham and turkey club combo

P.S.
Concerning the first item within my initial comment post: I just noticed how the style of blogging I am into these days is the type where my posts are actually bogged, not *blogged* -- which is not nearly as exciting, once one learns how to do it anyway.
Me, I am just majorly typo-prune it would seem, er, prone that is.

am always pleased to accept such an open invitation, like the generous and thoughtful one you provided this morning Cathy, with which in order to pimp both my own blog as well as the blog posts from other people's blogs or otherwise articles and information I come across that might be of interest to others.
:-) [smile]
thank you for providing the opportunity for me and others to do so Cathy.

I like s'mores.
Posted by: NTodd | Jun 4, 2005 10:05:02 PM
NTodd wrote: I like s'mores.
Yeah, me too! And I really like strawberry shortcake, but like strawberry cheesecake even better.
Great, now you have me hungry NTodd and, as a result, I will need to pig out on more desserts and junk food; which will make me even over-weight than I already am.
If I do, it is all NTodd's fault, because it is not like I have any self-control when it comes to food, especially comfort food.
Hmmm, maybe this has the makings for a law suit?!
Is there is a lawyer in the house?
[of course, don't even bother answering that; and, don't worry NTodd, I'm *not* the suing anybody they can for almost anything type anyway]
;-> [grin]
See what you have started now Cathy?!
:-) [smile]

Hi zephyr!
Good to know (watching over my shoulder and feeling a little more paranoid now [than usually is the case] as a result of such knowledge), thank you! [smile]
