The Flaming Grasshopper
Here he is. Jonathan Teller-Elsberg writes the stridently leftist Flaming Grasshopper blog for Chelsea Green Publishing. I wrote about the White River Junction company for this week's Seven Days. They're about to get some press, thanks to their newest release, Crashing the Gate: Netroots, Grassroots and the Rise of People-Powered Politics.
Frankly, I'm more interested in the Katrina-themed book they haven't released yet, called Through the Eye of the Storm. I snagged a review copy when I visited the company's office last week, and finished it the other day.
I read it in two late-night shifts, after the baby woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep. It's a little rough around the edges — written by first-time author Cholene Espinoza — but I put it down and immediately started thinking off all the people I need to tell about it. I'll probably write more when people can actually get a copy of the book. I really liked it, warts and all.
