i went to a college that didn't even have a student center, our tuition money went to new research labs and pay increases for the faculty so uvm'ers shouldnt be so cynical about their new space. i noticed no mention of the free pool tables, the ballroom, or the closer proximity to the dorms.
the energy put towards bitching about the Davis center could likely be better put to use on any of the plentifull and vastly more meaningfull causes.

ha! This video is great. :-) I have yet to meet a student who likes the "Death Star" or "Wal-mart" as some have dubbed the Davis Center. As far as putting our time into more meaningful causes, this is really difficult when good professors are getting fired, other opportunities are being cut, and our tuition is rising. I want to learn, not buy Ben and Jerry's.
p.s. we are almost halfway through the semester and some of my textbooks are still unavailable. guess i better buy a shot glass instead.

I think this video sucks... a lot of people put a lot of work into that center and it was all for the intention of the students... and this is the thanks? Grow up.

the davis center is an eyesore. it's a shame that so much money was put toward erecting a building that, although deemed 'the student center', apparently isn't actually representative of students themselves in any form. tsk tsk... 60 million, eh?! that's a lot of money to make such a HUGE blunder.
