Cabot Sock Sale 2008
The "Hunter's Widow" Sock Sale at Cabot Hosiery Mills is happening this weekend, though you wouldn't know it from searching the internet.
I'm not sure if the company just forgot to tell people about it, or if they're trying to keep it quiet for some reason, but there is very little info about this popular annual event online. There's not even an announcement on their website. I actually had to pick up the phone (gasp!) and call them to find out when it's happening.
Here's the info:
Cabot Sock Sale
Saturday and Sunday, November 15/16
Saturday and Sunday, November 22/23
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. all days
346 Whetstone Dr. in Northfield.
802-485-6066
This is Eva Sollberger's "Stuck in Vermont" video on last year's sock sale, in case you missed it. And a link to a very funny and random parody of the video.
They actually advertise it in printed newspapers. Crazy, I know, but that's how they always do it. Hunter's Widow sale.
If you are heading down to Northfield, you should also know that it is the Choinard t-shirt/sweatshirt sale at the Norwich fieldhouse.
And then in Montpelier, on Gallison Hill Road, is the Black Diamond warehouse sale.
All good reasons to head to Exit 8, and hang a right on Route 12.

It's not crazy at all to advertise in print newspapers!
I think it's a great idea.
I was just surprised because I could find all that info online when I looked last year. It wasn't easy, but it was there. This year, when I looked, all I could find was info from past years. That's what seemed weird.
