Corm, Coach and Lana Wilder Team up for New Morning Show
They're baaack.
The Champlain Valley awoke this morning once again to the sounds of Corm, Coach and Lana — only this time from their computers and smartphones rather than the radio.
Steve Cormier ("Corm"), Tom Brennan ("Coach") and Lana Wilder ("Lana" launched a new, two-hour morning show on Northeast Sports Network (NSNSports.net). The show airs from 7 to 9 a.m. After the first of the year, the show will be simulcast on WCAXtra, WCAX-TV's secondary digital channel.
News of the deal with NSNSports was first reported back in November, but no date had been set for a launch.
"Corm & the Coach" has been broadcasting to the Champlain Valley for nearly two decades and was among the region's most popular morning talk shows until it ended in 2008. "Corm & the Coach" returned to the airwaves in 2009 but stopped broadcasting in April when the station they were on fell into financial difficulty. Wilder was let go from her morning radio gig at Star 92.9 FM earlier this year after seven years at the station and more than 20 years in the local market.
Monday's show was broadcast online, coupled with a live video stream.
Expected first-day guests included former UVM and NHL player Aaron Miller, Brigadier General Steven Cray from the Vermont Air National Guard and Burlington Free Press writer Mike Donoghue.
Beginning Monday, January 3, 2011, the morning show will also be simulcast on WCAXtra. WCAX’s secondary digital channel located over-the-air on Digital 3.2, Comcast 168, Burlington Telecom 303, Charter 295 and Time Warner 165. WCAXtra could help the trio reach more than 300,000 homes throughout Vermont, New York and New Hampshire via television.
“We’ve been working to create this multimedia platform with the show at its epicenter for some time. It’s finally coming together and we’re excited to begin broadcasting.” said Cormier. “Not only does this allow us to be back ‘on the air’ but it paves the way for other programs to follow, including The Big Sports Show with George Commo and Jack Healy.”
The two-hour show will feature WCAX news and closed captioning will be provided.
Smart phones and computers? Bah! This internet business is just another passing fad, like lace parasols and Chubby Checker.
These three rascals will be back on the bread line soon enough. Just wait and see. Humbug!

Why? Why? Why? this show seems like a pseudo campaign for Corm to run for the School Board and they speak about nothing of relevance. They should stay on radio so we don't have to SEE them. Common Blowing your nose of TV
