Welcome to Off Message, a brand-new blog from your pals at Seven Days.
To coincide with the start of the general election season — and to satisfy the politics junkies among you — we are launching this up-to-the-moment source for politics and news.
And it's all paywall-free!
As its name implies, Off Message will go beyond press releases, talking points and campaign spin to cover the stories that matter in Vermont government and politics. We'll bring you the latest from the campaign trail and the Statehouse, plus a grab-bag of stories from around Vermont. And we'll doll it up with videos, photos and other multimedia whenever possible.
Why create a new blog? Seven Days is launching a redesigned website and new content- management system later this year and is creating new blogs (one for politics and news, another for food) as part of the transition. The Seven Days staff blog, Blurt, will not be seeking reelection in 2012, and is stepping down to spend more time with its family.
Off Message will serve as the hub for the latest and greatest news (mostly short items), while longer news features will continue to be published throughout the week on the main Seven Days website.
