Howdy. How was everyone's long weekend? Mine was regular sized — we're in production on Mondays. Not complaining, though. It was fairly stress free.

Let's talk about what pops up in my iPod!

I randomly heard two Tim Buckley tunes today, both from his far-out 1970 album Starsailor. That man sure could caterwaul. Can't post 'em, though; the files are locked.

Say, have any of you PC users ever experienced difficulty streaming or downloading the songs I put up? They're typically in MP4 format, which may lead to incompatibilities. Post a comment, and let me know; I can always convert. But not to Christianity. They won't have me.

Speaking of Buckleys, have you ever wondered what Daryl Hall (of Hall & Oates fame) and Robert Fripp might sound like together? A bit like late-period Jeff, only a whole lot cheesier. The song in question appears on Fripp's 1979 solo jaunt, Exposure. He'd rip it off two years later with "Matte Kudesai," from King Crimson's Discipline. Anyway, check it out if you've got any kind of tolerance for melodramatic falsetto:

And finally, a groovy new number from Akron/Family's upcoming disc, Meek Warrior. I sometimes like this band, especially the more percussive stuff. Enjoy yourselves a nice, krautrock-psych-trance-free-jazz-jam:

have you heard darryl hall's solo album 'sacred songs' from 1980?
fripp produced it. a whole album of fripperHALLotronix.
its pretty good. but not that great.

also another fripp oddity is that he produced the roches debut LP. fripp does cheeze-folk.

i have heard that hall/fripp collaboration before. it was funny because i was expecting more of an oates/p. collins feel to it.

Members of the roches appear on Exposure and, in my opinion, further wreck it. I have heard Sacred Hearts; some crusty progger made me a cassette copy years ago. My guess is that it's rather out-of-print.

Sorry I missed that there show. I was helping Brooke with Art Hop related stuff at GP&N. And enjoying the VIP beer tent, which led to a spell of Sunday night intoxication.

Oh, and Phil Collins is on Exposure, too!
