Cute little video.

L_d10dfaa6cbf12497b272f78a8169f9df Just got an e-mail from Arthur Adams, erstwhile leader of San Francisco pop act Blammos. Adams, a onetime Vermonter, now haunts the Bay with fellow Green Mountain ex-pats David Stockhausen and Tim Marcus, both of whom play in his band.

Adams wrote to tell me about a brand-new music video for the Blammos tune "Girl of My Dreams." In it, our hero prances throughout sunny SF, charming the pants off young ladies in the street. [Ed. note: Not literally. Although he's probably capable of such a feat.] I found it amusing that most of these gals look like they could be from Burlington.

Learn more about the shoot here.

Or, skip that shit and go straight to the video.

Keep in mind that this is a high-quality clip, so you might wanna let it load before viewing. But it's totally worth the wait — trust me.

Ari

Huh... my ex-bandmates move to San Francisco and get all hairy and win stuff. Sweet! Thanks for the links, Casey!

arthur

I don't think I'm any hairier than I used to be...I guess Tim and David are big-time beardies now...but oh well...we'll always welcome you Ari if you want to come out here and follow suit! (not on the beard growing...just the playing with us again...)

tybo

Hey, I'll grow a beard!

Neil

Sorry to be the negative nelly who points this out Casey, but I hope it only attests to my faithful readership: while describing Arthur as an erstwhile Burlingtonian would be correct, to say that Arthur is the erstwhile leader of San Francisco pop act Blammos implies that he is no longer the leader, which is factually incorrect. Homeboy is the leader of that band. For real: I was out there not too long ago, and he's got them whipped like bitches.

Usage is usage, and I'm most often a stickler for it.

However, may I be so bold to suggest, William Safire-style, that erstwhile has undergone a shift in convention?

Or maybe not. Perhaps it's only in my own word-addled mind.

Either way, Neil, thanks for being such an eagle-eyed Defender of Grammar.

Don't worry — soon you'll have someone else's faulty language to correct. Maybe I can work for some lad rag where they make it their business to mangle English.

Neil

Great, now I REALLY feel like a jerk. Awww, man... I'm gonna actually virtually miss you. Are you gonna still keep up the blog at least?

casey

Dunno. I'll likely keep blogging from somewhere. Most likely a free library port while I'm on break from my job manning the fry machine at Carl's Jr.

Ari

Wait, what? Does this mean Casey's leaving? I'm so out of the loop. Neil, you live in Boston and you know this? Where have I been? Is this because you're getting married?

Ari

ALSO, if Neil gets to be nit-picky, then so do I. I went to the Seven Days music page online to see if there was anything about you leaving, Casey, and noticed this headline: "Worker's Unite!" Really, now. Of course, maybe this is some sort of witty punctuation joke that I'm not hip to?

casey

Huh. I should check to see if it's the same error in the print edition. I'm usually extra persnickety about misused posessives. If it's screwed up in both spots, then I know it's time for me to become a fry cook.
