The Young Street Rink [255]
1/29/12: The Young Street Rink in Colchester is a backyard ice rink that has been maintained by the Young Street community for about a decade. Over the years this patch of ice has become the neighborhood hot spot. Eva visits on a Sunday night for a bonfire, burgers and a tour.

Thank you Eva for such a wonderful piece. You did a great job capturing the meaning of the rink to the neighborhood. Many bonds have been made from this adventure. My favorite memories will be looking out the window above my sink as I do dishes and see kids of all ages 5-21 playing a game of hockey. It is a site. They all look after each other on and off the ice. We wish that the weather was better so that you could see the sliding rink in action also. Again, thank you for the piece. It is being shown all over the country today to bring a bit of Vermont to others.
