One Earth Day [265]

 

4/22/12: What better way to celebrate Earth Day than digging in the dirt with people from around the world. The Vermont Council on World Affairs in conjunction with The Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program welcomed 19 international representatives from 18 different countries to the Green Mountains last week.

To celebrate Earth Day, these scientists, educators and leaders volunteered their time to spread compost and plant seeds at The Root Center in South Burlington.

Our Body: The Universe Within [264]

4/13/12: A new exhibit, "Our Body: The Universe Within," opened this weekend in the brand-new Lakeside Pavilion at ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington. Actual human bodies and organs are on display after undergoing a polymer impregnation preservation process, revealing the mysterious inner workings of our bodies to the general public.

Easter at Consider Bardwell Farm [263]

4/8/12: Consider Bardwell Farm held its first annual Easter Egg Hunt in West Pawlet on Sunday. Over 150 baby goats greeted visitors and Eva got a tour of the caves that store their award-winning handmade cheeses.

VT State Science & Math Fair [262]

3/31/12: The 52nd annual VT State Science & Math Fair was held at Norwich University in Northfield last Saturday. 170 students in grades 5-12 were awarded prizes and college scholarships that add up to almost 1 million dollars.  Eva spoke to the young leaders of tomorrow about their research projects and results.
